This Month In Eternaltwin #21
Eternaltwin is a project with the goal to preserve Motion Twin's games and player communities.
Eternaltwin
Hello everyone!
On February 20th 2026, we had our first "Eternaltwin Council" meeting. See the recording and notes (English only). The goal of the council is to discuss topics relevant to all games of the project.
On the technical side, the main decisions were to work on a system to send notifications from Eternaltwin to games and to make it easier to access deployment logs.
We rejected the idea of paying contributors: there are concerns about attracting people not interested by the long-term benefits to the project. There is interest in better highlighting contributions and offering goodies. Details will be discussed during the next meeting in April.
We are also looking for help for these monthly TMIET articles. Collecting drafts, proofreading, formatting, translating, and publishing take a lot of time. If you're interested, please contact Demurgos or Biosha on Discord.
eMush
This month, let's focus on a recent improvement. For some time, a new dev has been working on improving the user interface of the game, so it is more modern and usable on mobile. The changes for small screens in the latest update are spectacular.
Another important fact, the elections for the second term of the 42nd floor are ongoing. The 42nd floor is the group that decides changes to eMush, mainly around balancing. You may check the mission statements of the candidates on Discord and vote directly on eMush if you played at least once.
MyHordes
MyHordes Season 19 has started
This month, MyHordes has launched Season 19. Apart from the usual ranking reset, we added quite a bunch of new features. Exploration is now more rewarding than ever with new titles and XP for those brave enough to uncover the entire map. The gameplay has been revitalized thanks to profession upgrades that allow Scavengers to excavate zones and Guardians to wield two heavy items, alongside long overdue town additions like the reworked Catapult and the brand-new Sacrificial Blaze. Venturing out is also smoother than before, featuring severely improved performance in the Explorable Ruins, rebalanced wind mechanics, and quality-of-life updates including a robust new avatar history system and better inventory UI.
DinoRPG
Howdy Dinoz Masters! For this newsletter, let's go through the latest news, changes, and ongoing developments.
Amphitheatre
Nothing better than to mention the results of the first amphitheatre survey.
What are their next steps?
Fight Mechanic of the Month: Armor and its rework
A rework of the armor characteristic was made available back in November 2025. This rework offers a new approach to this mechanic that should make it much more interesting.
Let's start with some Dinozian mathematics. In simple words, the damage of an
attack is the result of the power of the attack minus the defense of the target.
In short: damage = attack - defense.
Armor used to just be added to the target's defense. 1 additional armor meant 1 more in defense, that's it. Knowing that, it explains why the armor effect was very lackluster and even invisible.
Now, armor is percentage-based and adds up like the other characteristics like
dodge and counter. Then armor now affects the power of the attack before the
target's defense takes effect. Like a second skin that protects the body. So,
with that in mind, hold on to your calculator, the new formula becomes:
damage = attack * (1 - armor) - defense
This rework was tested during the balancing experiment and seemed coherent for the team. It helps balance armor-based skills such as (hull, shell, hermetic aura, faroe heritage, petrification).
Lastest Dinoland News
Some say the Professor made a discovery at the university last year. Did he talk to you about it? If I were you, I would ask him.
Joveboze was seen at the Frish Port, according to those that pretend to understand his dialect, he would have seen something at the sticky swamp.
Rumors mention a new property of the Amnesiac Rice was discovered. This should be verified, rumors can be unreliable.
Ongoing Development Tasks
Many efforts are ongoing from a pure development perspective. All are essential to the 1.0 release and brings us closer to it.
The game interface received many improvements. Some of those are visible and help provide consistent art and user experience (goodbye sad grey buttons). Others are less visible but as important.
In a similar topic, many changes were and are being worked on to address the technical debt of the project. In simple terms, this consists in re-writing some code following best practices which allows fixing bugs, avoid creating new bugs, add contents easier in the future, and improve the performance of the website.
The seeding of the dojo tournament was improved to guarantee better functioning and rendering, display the name of Dinoz masters in fights, and handle cases were the tournament would not be full.
Help pages are being reworked. A first step is to change their generation in order to make them much much easier to update. Next step will be to update them so they match better the current state of the game.
That's it for February. We'll see you next month for fresh news about the development of the game.
