I’m bringing up an old and interesting topic: the possibility of killing a fellow Mush after humans have discovered their fungal state. Is it justified to go against your fellow fungus even if there was a prior mutual agreement?
I’m not saying you shouldn’t defend yourself or that you can’t ask in the chat for them to take out the other player. In a way, that’s also your defense. What I’m saying is actively participating in the killing, whether by striking or delivering the final blow
This topic is intriguing for many reasons. The act of killing a Mush has always been seen as a definitive proof of humanity. Therefore, if you are a Mush, killing a fellow Mush could give humans the chance to believe that you’re human. But not because of your clever play using fungal abilities, but rather because of a situation that should never have been resorted to in the first place.
Following that idea, that would allow humans to ask for food tests, natamy shooting and even messing with roleplay, where Gioele could have the chance of killing someone just because he's paranoid or Jin Su ordering a specific killing because he's the Commander.
The line is extremely thin, and where is it drawn? Fairplay.
If your fellow Mush is inactive, sadly, you’ve got to play alone. You can't just convert someone inactive, go anonymush, and then kill the inactive Mush player to prove you're human. That’s the problem with it. You could play like this forever and always end up back in Sol or Eden, just by exploiting inactivity. This is just one example of the many ways that same team killing is problematic.
It's a game. And not even a real time game. It's asynchronous. So in my humble opinion in games like Mush, the line between strategy and fairness can be incredibly thin. While it's tempting to exploit every opportunity to advance, the true challenge lies in maintaining the integrity of the experience. At its core, fair play isn't just about following the rules; it's about ensuring that the game remains enjoyable and meaningful for everyone.
The real victory comes not just from winning, but from respecting the spirit of the game and the experiences of your fellow players, humans and fungi.
